Genitorialità, infanzia e intercultura (Parenthood, childhood and inter-culturality)

 

Research topics: Pedagogy of educational services 0-6; the "word" in the educational relationship between children and adults: studies on linguistic interaction between children, between children and adults, and between adults (teachers and educators) in educational and school systems with reference to the 0-10 age group; emotions and affections in education with reference to the 0-10 age group in Italy and Europe; the theme of inter-culture in the training of educators and teachers in Italy and Europe; studies on the processes of social and cultural inclusion of immigrants and their descendants; the family: studies on family relations as part of the programming of the "Rivista Italiana di Educazione Familiare - RIEF" (Scientific Director: Clara Silva).

 

Aims and objectives: National and international studies on the following topics (also addressed from an intercultural point of view in order to promote the social and cultural inclusion of immigrants and their descendants): 

1) Education and care of childhood 0-6, with particular attention to the role of emotions and affections in education in order to contribute to initial and in-service training of educators and teachers who are more capable of responding to the needs of children;

2) The "word" in the educational relationship: analysis of conversational styles of educators and teachers with a view to enhancing their awareness of how to speak to children and to implement their linguistic-communicative and conversational skills;

3) Pedagogy of the family and support of parenting with a view to analyzing the scientific, pedagogical and psychological literature on the theme of the family in order to elaborate, together with the partners of the unit, effective strategies and pathways to support parenting, especially for vulnerable families, in connection with the "Rivista Italiana di Educazione Familiare - RIEF" (Scientific Director: Prof. Clara Silva);

4) The pedagogical quality of childcare services: studies on the impact of national and international regulations on the accessibility and diffusion of childcare services and their quality.
