SSEF – Studi storici sull’educazione e sulla formazione (Historical study of education and teaching)

Research topics: The research lines concern two levels:
- social and institutional autonomies in educational and training processes from a historical perspective (with studies on elementary school and master class, assistance and charity, vocational training, pedagogy and consumption, leisure, educational museums, scholastic publishing and science teaching);
- the study of methodologies and epistemological forms of the history of education and its communication through didactics and technology.
Aims and objectives:Analysis of processes in the contemporary age, privileging a socio-cultural approach addressed to themes of history of the school, training at work and in the workplace, leisure time, childhood and adolescence, school and educational policies, and didactics. Reflections on methodology and historiographic criticism: from the analysis of sources to digital documentation, from didactics to the diffusion of knowledge.
Current projects:Research regarding the history of the Italian elementary school; digitalization of Antonio Gramsci's Prison Notebooks; history of vocational training and technical-professional education after World War II; alpinism, modernity and human personality between pastime and work.
